Shimla: In Mandi district of Himachal, there was such a havoc of nature that many families were destroyed. At the same time, three members of the ten -month -old family of Nitika’s family were swept away or died in the incident of cloudburst in Talwara village and she is probably left alone of her family. On Tuesday, when Nitika’s father Ramesh Kumar was trying to stop the water entering his house in Talwara village, the cloudburst caused havoc in the village. His body was found in the rubble. Nitika’s mother Radha Devi (24) and Dadi Purnu Devi (59) set out in search of Ramesh. But both women have not yet been detected.

People coming forward to help the girl

Nitika’s neighbor Prem Singh saw the girl crying alone and took her to Ramesh’s cousin Balwant. Balwant is a private security officer of former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. Balwant said, “The girl is with us.” He said that the sub-divisional magistrate has offered to open a bank account in the name of the girl and this account will be opened tomorrow. Balwant said, “He (SDM) said that a lot of calls are coming and people are coming forward to help the girl after hearing about this tragedy.”

The most affected by cloudburst

The most affected areas of cloudburst are Pawara, Thunag, Baidshad, Kanda and Murad. All these panchayats have caused heavy destruction, where roads, water and electricity schemes have suffered a lot. Officials said that fourteen people have died so far in ten incidents of cloudburst, sudden floods and landslides in Mandi district, while 31 missing people are searching.

Administration helped relatives

Balwant told that Ramesh also lost his father at the age of just six months. Ramesh was a farmer whose earnings were not good and had to depend on the salary of Puranu Devi for household expenses. Puranu Devi is posted as a peon in a government school and was scheduled to retire in seven months. A relief amount of Rs 25 thousand has been given by the administration to her relatives to take care of Nitika. (input language)
