number of women voters
Another important change in this new voter list of Assam is the improvement in gender ratio. Now the number of male and female voters in the state is almost equal.
- Male voters: 1,24,82,213
- Women voters: 1,24,75,583

The equation of 126 seats can change
The data of all 126 assembly seats of Assam has been updated under Special Revision 2026. This huge reduction in names and the addition of a large number of new youth may change the old voting equations of many areas. Now there is a lot of debate among the political parties as to which areas have the maximum names cut and what effect will this have on the results?
Let us tell you that the tenure of Assam government is ending in May 2026. The elections are expected to be held in March-April 2026. There are total 126 seats in the assembly. Talking about the last elections i.e. 2021, the BJP-led NDA had made a historic comeback by winning 75 seats, after which Himanta Biswa Sarma was made the Chief Minister. However, the 2026 election will be different in many ways, as it is the first election to be held after the new delimitations. Changes in the boundaries of constituencies and deletion of lakhs of names from the voter list have completely shaken the old voting equations.
