Flights diverted due to bad weather
Flight operations at Delhi Airport on Wednesday were interrupted due to visibility affected due to rain and strong winds. As a result, several upcoming flights could not land and they had to divert at nearby airports to ensure the safety of passengers. According to airport sources, at least four flights were diverted from Delhi to Jaipur due to bad weather. These diversions were performed as a precautionary measure due to low visibility in the region and continuous rains.
Flight was coming from these places
The affected flights included flights from Kathmandu, Srinagar, Patna and Kolkata. Passengers of these flights were informed about the diversion in the middle flight and on landing in Jaipur, necessary arrangements were made for further travel or housing facilities. Officials are keeping a close watch on the weather conditions to resume normal operations at Delhi Airport.
Visibility less at Delhi Airport
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the general visibility was recorded at only 4,500 meters at 5 pm and was marked as a runway scene limit (RVR) ‘M’ for all major runways including RWY28 and RWY10, reflecting unavailable or unavailable data. Due to these circumstances, many flights had to be diverted towards Jaipur, as the aircraft got unsafe due to bad weather and low visibility.
Explain that the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of usually cloudy in Delhi and light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning. Light rain is expected to continue in the coming days.
