A shocking case has come to light in Goa. Here in South Goa, Soham Naik, 20-year-old son of BJP councilor Sushant Naik, has been arrested on charges of sexually exploiting teenage girls. Soham, a Madhegal resident of Kakora, is accused of sexually exploiting 25 to 30 girls, making their videos by threatening them and circulating them. There is a lot of anger among the people of the state after the matter came to light.
Soham trapped in discussing sexual relations
The matter came to light last week. Accused Soham was discussing about his sexual relations with his friends during a liquor party. He also showed obscene videos made with girls on mobile to his friends. After this the news spread and was published in a local newspaper. The report mentioned having sex with at least 14 girls, including minors, and threatening the victims and making videos of them.
Gheraoed the police station and demanded arrest, 3 filed complaint
After the report was published in the newspaper, a crowd gathered outside the police station on Sunday night. People demanded a fair investigation and immediate arrest of the accused. After this the police appealed to the victims to come forward and record their statements. It is being told that till now 3 victims have recorded their statements, after which FIR was lodged. The case has been handed over to the Crime Branch. After this the police arrested Soham.
Accused sent to police custody
The police have registered an FIR against the accused under the Indian Justice Code, Information Technology Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) and Goa Children’s Act. The local court has sent him to police custody for 4 days. Police say that the faces of the victims are not visible in the video. The videos are said to be from 3 years ago and it is being claimed that he was a minor at the time. The video has been sent for forensic examination.
