Good news for our metro lovers.. An important step for Bangalore-Tumkur metro expansion! – Btv Kannada

Bangalore: There is another good news for our metro commuters. Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has now taken up a major project to extend the metro line up to Tumkur. A tender process has been initiated for preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) in this regard.

A total of 59.6 km. This long distance route will connect from Madavar in Bengaluru to Tumkur. This new corridor will pass through important areas like Nelamangala, Dabaspet and Katasandra. BMRCL invited bids for preparation of DPR. Interested companies can submit bids till November 20. The tender is likely to be called and finalized on November 21. The selected company will be given 5 months time to prepare the DPR.

BMRCL plans to develop this mega project on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The first phase of the project is expected to cost an estimated ₹20,649 crore. This project was proposed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the budget of 2024-25.
