Haveri gang rape case – 7 accused exiled to Yadgiri

Haveri: Deputy Sub-Divisional Officer of Savanur has issued an order to exile 7 accused in Haveri gang rape case to Yadgiri district. Police have taken this action in the background of threat to law and order.

Accused A1 Aptaba Mookboola Ahmed, A2 Madrasabah Mahmadasadhik, A3 Mahmud Sadhik Babusaba, A4 Riaz Abdul Rafiq, A5 Samiullah Abdulwaheed, A6 Shohib Niaz Ahmed, A7 Tauseep Ahmed have been ordered to exile from the district for 1 year. The accused have been given a condition to report daily at the Hunsagi police station in Yadgiri.

Background of the case:

This gang rape case was registered on January 11, 2024 under Hanagal police station. In this case, the accused held a road show after being released on bail. BTV broke the news about the gang rape first. BTV had earlier witnessed the victim’s video statement. 164 was a statement by the victim before the judge on the background of BTV news. Based on that statement, the case of gang rape was established.
