Bangalore: The High Court on Tuesday ordered the BJP MLA Munirath, who was the first accused in the rape of a woman from her accomplices, and should not be forced to take action against the police.
High Court Justice SR Krishna Kumar held a unanimous bench filed by Munirath seeking bail in the case filed at the RMC Yard Station in Bangalore.
Vasant Kumar, Channakeshava and Kamal, who are accused in the case, have been ordered not to be forced. Applications cannot be heard today in the wake of the lack of time. Thus, the protection given to Munirath and other accused will be extended. The court adjourned the hearing on June 17, saying the case would be finally decided.
Senior advocate CH Hanumantaraya said, “The trial court needs to dismiss the anticipatory bail application of Munirath and other accused. There have been 16 criminal cases against Munirat.
Additional Advocate General CS Pradeep said, “The accused are not cooperating with the investigation.
Senior lawyer Ashok Haranahalli, who represented Munirath, argued that “the investigation will be cooperated in all ways. Thus, the arrest should not be allowed.
