New Delhi: Local ASP has been killed and many injured in the IED blast by Naxalites in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The deceased ASP (ASP) has been identified as Akash Rao Giripunje.
Two security personnel, including DSP and Inspector, were injured in an incident near Dondra on Konta-Erabor Road.
Naxalites have trapped the police in Konta. The IED exploded as a team of policemen left out, believing it. Other staff were also injured along with Giripunje. All were taken to Konta Hospital for treatment. ASP, who was seriously injured and severely bleeding, died in a hospital without treatment.
On June 10, Giripunjay was busy preventing the potential Naxal activity before the CPI called Bharat Bandh. Earlier this month, 16 Naxalites, including two members of the PLGA battalion, surrendered to Sukma. Of these, 6 people have to pay Rs 25 lakh for the heads. The prize was announced. Another is a woman and a male cadre paid Rs 8 lakh each. There was a prize.
