Bangalore: In connection with the case of illegal ore export, Congress MLA Satish Sail suffered a huge setback and yesterday a special court issued an order canceling the bail of Satish Sail.
The court has now canceled the bail of Sayle, who was granted provisional bail on medical grounds. 64 crore property of MLA Satish Sail has been confiscated by the ED officials so far in the investigation of this case.
Satish Sail is facing charges of illegally collecting ore without permission from the mining geology and forest departments and exporting it to many foreign countries including China. In 2010, the Forest Department visited the port of Mangalore and submitted a report on the seizure of around 5 lakh metric tonnes of ore that had been illegally stored. The ED, which has taken up the case, has registered a case under the PMLA Act and is investigating.
At present, ED has searched 15 places in the state of Karnataka, Goa, Delhi, Mumbai in connection with this case. Satish Sail was arrested and ED seized 8 crores in cash and gold. The MLA’s bail has been canceled even as the investigation into the illegal ore case is intensifying.
