IMD Rain Alert: Heavy rain likely in Delhi-NCR, heat torture in Gujarat-Mumbai

IMD Rain Alert: These days, fluctuations in weather patterns are being seen across the country. Talking about the country’s capital Delhi and its surrounding areas, there is a possibility of rain here today. There is a feeling of mild coolness here in the morning and evening, but by afternoon the strong sunlight and hot winds are making people uncomfortable. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain in Delhi-NCR today. However, the department has also warned that with the beginning of April, there will be a big rise in temperature, due to which heat wave-like conditions may arise in the initial days itself.

At present the weather is completely dry in the plains of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of dusty winds in the plains, which will not only increase the heat but may also affect visibility and air quality. In the low lying areas of hilly states like Uttarakhand, sunlight is getting stronger, due to which the speed of snow melting and increase in day temperature is being seen.

‘Heat’ alert in Jaisalmer and Barmer

At the same time, the heat has started becoming severe in Rajasthan. Temperatures in western districts like Jaisalmer, Barmer and Bikaner are reaching close to 40 degrees Celsius. Heat like conditions have started forming here. Even in the capital Jaipur, there is silence on the roads in the afternoon due to hot winds. The administration has advised people not to go out unnecessarily during the afternoon.

More heat in Gujarat and Mumbai

The maximum effect of heat is visible in Gujarat, where the mercury has reached 35 to 39 degrees. Strong hot winds have affected life. At the same time, the humid heat due to sea moisture in Mumbai has troubled the people. The temperature here may be 30-33 degrees, but the heat felt is much more.

Relief from pre-monsoon showers in South India

At the same time, the weather is looking kind in South India. Pre-monsoon activities have started in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain and strong winds with thunder in these states. The movement of clouds will cause the temperature to drop.
