India Brazil Bilateral Talks: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (Saturday) had an important conversation with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the objective of these discussions was to further strengthen the India-Brazil strategic partnership including business, energy, defence, agriculture, climate change, technology, AI, critical minerals, semiconductor and cooperation in the Global South. In this special conversation with PM Modi, both the leaders expressed support for the vision of a multi-polar and inclusive world order. Along with this, called for immediate reform of the United Nations, especially the Security Council. Along with this, India and Brazil expressed their commitment to strengthen the fight against terrorism.

Bilateral trade will be worth more than 2 thousand crores

In this meeting, a total of 10 agreements were finalized in important areas like critical minerals, digital cooperation, health, mass communication and MSME. On this occasion, PM Modi said that Brazil is India’s largest trading partner in South America. Both the countries have set a target of taking their bilateral trade beyond 20 billion dollars in the next 5 years, which Prime Minister Modi described as a symbol of mutual trust.

Cooperation will increase in technology and defense

India and Brazil are working together to set up a Center of Excellence for ‘Digital Public Infrastructure’ in Brazil. PM Modi said that the deal on critical minerals will strengthen the supply chain. He also described the growing partnership in the defense sector as an excellent example of strategic coordination. Emphasizing on this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that when India and Brazil work together, the voice of the Global South becomes stronger.
