India gets big success: Pinaka Extended Range Rocket successfully tested in Pokhran

The country has taken another big step towards self-reliant India in the defense sector. The production batch of Pinaka Extended Range (ER) rockets manufactured by Solar Group was successfully test fired in Pokhran, Rajasthan. This is the first time that a private company has successfully demonstrated accuracy, lethality and extended range of more than 50 km with 24 Guided Pinaka Rockets, boosting India’s indigenous defense capability (Atmanirbhar Bharat).

Amidst the ongoing tension in the world, India has tested 24 Pinaka ER rockets with 90 KM strike power. Let us tell you that for the first time, two production batches of Pinaka Extended Range rocket have been successfully tested. The test was conducted at the Pokhran Field Firing Range, where 24 rockets were launched and their accuracy and lethality were tested. Tension is continuously increasing in the world. At such a time, this step of India is being considered as a big strategic message. Pinaka ER is going to be a game changer in future wars.

What is Pinaka System?

Pinaka is a multiple launch rocket system. It is a long-range artillery weapon, developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) for the Indian Army. This system is known for rapid response and accurate attack, which significantly increases the combat capability of the army. The biggest feature of Pinaka is its speed and ability to attack accurately. To some extent it would work like a cruise missile.
