India successfully tested 2 short distance ballistic missiles-Prithvi-2 and Agni-1 on Thursday. The Ministry of Defense confirmed the successful launch of the two and said that they fulfilled all the mission objectives.
According to the information, on 17 July 2025, Belistic missiles Prithvi-2 and Agni-1 were successfully tested less than the integrated test range at Chandipur, Odisha. These tests confirmed all operating and technical parameters. These tests were conducted under the aegis of Strategic Forces Command (SFC).
Prithvi-2 missile specialty-
- It is an atom-capable, surface-to-surface-to-surface ballistic missile.
- Its firepower is 350 km.
- It has been developed indigenously by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
- This missile is capable of penetrating its goal with high accuracy.
Specialty of Agni-1 missile-
- It is also a short distance ballistic missile.
- It has also been developed by DRDO.
- It is a single phase missile.
- Agni-1 testing was also successful. This completed all operational and technical parameters.
