Chandipur: India on Friday successfully test-fired the medium-range ballistic missile Agni-3 from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha. Officials said that all the operational and technical parameters in this test remained completely as expected. Let us tell you that the launch of this missile was done under the supervision of Strategic Forces Command. Agni-3 is a nuclear-capable missile, with a range of approximately 3,000 to 3,500 kilometers. With this, India can target important targets located in the interior areas of enemy countries.
Big threat to Pakistan and China?
Agni-3’s 3,000-3,500 km range covers the hinterland of Pakistan and China, including all major cities of Pakistan and cities like Beijing and Shanghai in China. If seen this way, these two countries are the main targets in India’s JD. This missile gives more tension to Pakistan than China because not only does it have the capability to wreak havoc on all its cities but it also has no solution to it. Agni-3 is counted among the world’s most powerful mid-range missiles.
Why is Agni-3 so special for India?
Agni-3 is India’s medium-range ballistic missile. It is a two-stage solid fuel missile, with a length of 16.7 metres, diameter of 2 metres, and a launch weight of 48,300 kg. It can carry a payload of up to 1,500 kg, including nuclear or conventional warheads, and has a flying altitude of more than 450 km. Developed by DRDO, it can be launched from rail-mobile and road-mobile platforms. Its accuracy comes from advanced navigation and guidance systems. It has undergone several successful tests since 2006, and is an important part of India’s defense capability.
