What is the news?
If your courage is high then even the biggest mountain seems small. A talented person from India has proved this to be true. We are talking about Bhupathiraju Anmish Verma, who has climbed 7 volcanic peaks the fastest. After this courageous act, he has earned fame all over the world and has also got his name registered in the Guinness Book. Let us know about his record in detail.
Climbed all the peaks in 92 days
On 6 February 2026, the Guinness Book team officially announced and gave information about this record. Bhupathiraju had climbed all seven peaks in just 92 days, 4 hours and 45 minutes. These include Ojos del Salado of South America, Kilimanjaro of Africa, Damavand of Asia, Elbrus of Europe, Pico de Orizaba of North America, Mount Giluwe of Oceania and Mount Sidley of Antarctica.
When and where did the journey start?
Bhupathiraju started his journey on October 23, 2024, when he climbed the peak of Mount Elbrus in Russia. He finally completed the climb of Mount Sidley in Antarctica on January 23, 2025. These 7 volcanic peaks are considered the most physically and environmentally challenging for mountaineering. However, these too fell short in front of Bhupathiraju’s passion. He faced challenges during this endeavor, but did not give up.
Bhupathiraju was honored in Delhi
A special awards ceremony was organized at CSOI, Vinay Marg, Delhi on 17 March. Bhupathiraju was given his certificate at the same ceremony.
