Infosys is placing more emphasis on AI opportunities in the service sector as well.

Six areas of growth in Artificial Intelligence (AI) services can open up business opportunities worth $300 to 400 billion (about Rs 27,000-36,000 billion) by 2030. Salil Parekh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of software giant Infosys, has said that the company sees the next wave of AI-based development emerging in these areas. He foresees developments in strategy, data, process, agentic legacy modernization, physical AI and AI trust for AI.

Physical AI will be a new concept

Parekh said at Infosys Investor AI Day that legacy modernization represents one of the biggest opportunities within this framework. He explained that Physical AI is a new concept, where AI software is embedded directly into the device. He also said Infosys is expanding its partnership system and has recruited 20,000 college graduates this year to build future-ready AI capabilities.

Most customers are handing over AI-based work

The company chief said that Infosys does artificial intelligence work for 90 percent of its top 200 big customers. “The information we’ve heard from our customers shows that they trust the company to pursue AI initiatives and implement them successfully,” he said. After Parekh’s comment, the company’s share price rose by 4.32 percent to Rs 1,424.60/share.
