IPL 2026 schedule, venue and all important information

What is the news?

In the first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 28. Under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar, defending champions RCB would like to make a positive start to the tournament. On the other hand, in the absence of Pat Cummins, Ishan Kishan will captain SRH in the initial matches. Till now only the schedule of the first phase of IPL has been announced. In the meantime, let’s take a look at all the important information related to the schedule and venue.

Double header matches will be held on 4th and 5th April

March 28, 2026– RCB vs SRH, Bengaluru
March 29, 2026– MI vs KKR, Mumbai
March 30, 2026– RR vs CSK, Guwahati
March 31, 2026– PBKS vs GT, Chandigarh
April 1, 2026– LSG vs DC. Lucknow
April 2, 2026– KKR vs SRH, Kolkata
April 3, 2026– CSK vs PBKS, Chennai
April 4, 2026 – DC vs MI (Afternoon)
April 4, 2026 GT vs RR, Ahmedabad
April 5, 2026– SRH vs LSG, Hyderabad (Afternoon)
April 5, 2026– RCB vs CSK, Bengaluru

The first phase will be played till 12th April

April 6, 2026 – KKR vs PBKS, Kolkata
April 7, 2026 – RR vs MI, Guwahati
April 8, 2026 – DC vs GT, Delhi
April 9, 2026 – KKR vs LSG, Kolkata
April 10, 2026 – RR vs RCB, Guwahati
April 11, 2026 – PBKS vs SRH, Chandigarh (Afternoon)
April 11, 2026 – CSK vs DC, Chennai
April 12, 2026 – LSG vs GT (Afternoon), Lucknow

Matches will be held on these 10 grounds

A total of 20 matches of the first phase will be played in 10 cities, including Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Apart from the inaugural match, the final match is also to be held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. At the same time, RR matches of the first phase are scheduled to be played at ACA Stadium in Guwahati. The afternoon matches of IPL 2026 will start at 03:30 PM and the evening matches will start at 07:30 PM.
