New Delhi: A big news related to Iran has come out for Indian passport holders. Iran has suspended visa exemption facility for ordinary Indian passport holders. India’s Foreign Ministry itself gave this information on Monday. The reason behind this has also come to light.
Why was the decision taken?
The Ministry of External Affairs said that this decision has been taken in view of several incidents of luring Indians to Iran by giving false promises of employment or assurance of transit to other countries. The ministry said that the government has come across many such incidents in which Indian citizens were made false promises of employment and were lured to Iran.
When will the facility be suspended?
Iran has suspended visa exemption facility for ordinary Indian passport holders from November 22. The Ministry of External Affairs says that this has been done to ensure that this facility is not misused.
Now how to enter Iran?
Now Indian citizens with common passports will be required to obtain a visa to enter Iran. “The people were taken to travel to Iran by taking advantage of the visa exemption facility available to ordinary Indian passport holders,” the ministry said. Upon reaching Iran, many of them were kidnapped for ransom.”
Foreign Ministry also warned
The Ministry of External Affairs also said that all Indians who wish to go to Iran should remain in alert mode. Avoid any agents offering visa-free travel or onward travel to third countries via Iran.
It is noteworthy that a large number of people from India go to Iran in search of employment, but many times these people get trapped in the trap of agents, who put the lives of Indians in danger for a few rupees. Once people leave India, they become helpless and foreigners take advantage of this helplessness. (input language)
