Suspicious drones seen entering Indian airspace

Indian Army officials said all the flying objects (suspected drones) were seen entering Indian airspace from across the border, hovering over sensitive locations for some time and then returning back towards Pakistan. Security agencies immediately activated standard operating procedures, including alerting troops deployed at nearby posts and launching coordinated search operations in the suspected drop zone.

Army soldiers had to open fire in Rajouri district

According to officials, Army personnel guarding Nowshera sector of Rajouri district reportedly opened fire with medium and light machine guns after spotting a drone over Gania-Kalsian village at around 06:35 pm. Around the same time, another drone-like object was seen near Khabar village in Teriath area. Officials said that this object with flickering lights was seen coming from Dharamsal village of Kalakot.

Suspicious drones also seen in Samba district

According to officials, similar incidents were reported from Samba district, where a drone-like object was seen hovering over Chak Babral village in Ramgarh sector at around 07:15 pm for a few minutes. Another suspicious drone was spotted by security personnel in Mankot sector along the LoC at around 06:25 pm in Poonch district. Following these incidents, joint search operations were conducted by the army, police and other security agencies in the affected areas.

The search operation continued till late night

Officials said that as a precautionary measure, the search operation continued till late night. The incidents come just days after security forces recovered a cache of weapons near the International Border in Palora village of Samba district.
