The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had released the new annual contracts of Indian cricket team players for the 2025-26 season in February. The board had abolished the A+ grade and kept only 3 players (Shubhman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja) in Grade-A. Bumrah was earlier a part of A+ and now he will suffer a loss of Rs 2 crore. Players in A+ would get Rs 7 crore, while in Grade-A they would get Rs 5 crore.

Akshar Patel kept in Grade-C
According to the report, Axar Patel has been kept in Grade-C, he can also be seen again. Similarly, players like KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant have also been shifted from Grade-A to Grade-B. The board has taken this step based on the recent performance of the players and the requirements of the team. In such a situation, possible amendments in contracts and grades are being considered.
Maximum 16 players were in Grade-C
BCCI has kept maximum 16 players in Grade-C. Akshar, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Verma, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dubey, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Dhruv Jurel, Varun Chakraborty, Nitish Reddy, Sai Sudarshan, Ravi Bishnoi, Abhishek Sharma and Harshit Rana were included in this grade. On the other hand, Mohammed Shami, Rajat Patidar, Safarfaraz Khan, and Mukesh Kumar were not included in the contract this time.
There are 11 players in Grade-B
BCCI has kept 11 players in Grade-B. Apart from Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, this grade includes Hardik, Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar, Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and Kuldeep Yadav. Pant, Siraj, Hardik and Rahul were part of Grade-A in the previous contract. In the previous contract, Grade-B got Rs 3-3 crore and Grade-C got Rs 1-1 crore.
