Veteran director and actor Joe Simon of Kannada cinema (Sandalwood) passed away today (February 13). Joe Simon died of a heart attack while attending an executive meeting organized by the Film Chamber. Even though he was a veteran director who had given several super hit movies, he lived a simple life without any fuss, without fussing about the news, he accepted what came as it came, he had no complaints, but there was a little boredom. He had said about it only a month before his death.
A few weeks ago, Joe Simon, who gave an interview to the YouTube channel ‘Kalamadhyam’, talked about several issues. In particular, they talked about their health, their mood, their daily routine, and many other things due to their simplicity. In the same interview, he also brought out his small annoyance.
Joe Simon seemed to be upset that the government did not recognize his seniority and the legacy he had given to the Kannada film industry. Speaking about this in an interview, Simon said, ‘Friends always tell me to try for Rajyotsava award. My name is sent by our association every time. Even MP Tejaswi Surya once recommended my name for the Rajyotsava award. But every time someone else gets the award. I also feel that I deserve the Kanagal award. I had applied for that too, but I was not considered for that too,’ he expressed regret.

But in recent years, he seems to have stopped applying for the award. “Don’t apply for awards, it doesn’t feel right to be sad that you didn’t get it. People love you. They recognize you wherever you go, take photos with you, that’s enough for me, I don’t need awards. According to his wife, Joe Simon has stopped applying for awards.
Joe Simon, who said that he likes to live simply, said, ‘I have not put up a board in front of my house saying my introduction. I didn’t even make any visiting card. “You are leading a sober life without worrying about anything, not getting bored when things are bad, and not getting too excited when things are good,” said Simon.
Joe Simon’s final darshan will be held tomorrow (February 14) at Rabindra Kalakshetra. His last rites will be performed tomorrow according to Christian rites.
