Kerala Elections: Rahul Gandhi announced 5 guarantees, free bus travel, promised to give Rs 1000 every month to girl students

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has announced five guarantees in poll-bound Kerala, including free travel for women in Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses and financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month for college-going girls. He said that if UDF comes to power in Kerala, all women will be provided free bus travel facility and college going girl students will be given assistance of Rs 1,000 per month. He also announced that the welfare pension amount would be increased to Rs 3,000 per month.

Promise to provide health insurance of Rs 25 lakh to every family

Rahul Gandhi said that a health insurance scheme will be started in the name of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, under which each family will get coverage up to Rs 25 lakh. The Congress leader also promised interest-free loans of up to Rs five lakh for small businesses. Along with this he said that a minister will be appointed for the welfare of senior citizens. Gandhi made these announcements while inaugurating the concluding ceremony of ‘Puthuyuga Yatra’ in Thiruvananthapuram.

Five guarantees of Rahul Gandhi

1. Free bus travel for all women in KSRTC buses.
2. Financial assistance of ₹ 1000 every month to college going girl students.
3. Welfare pension increased to ₹3000 per month.
4. Health insurance cover of ₹25 lakh for every household under a scheme in the name of Oommen Chandy ji.
5. Interest-free loan up to ₹5 lakh for youth to start their own business.

Rahul Gandhi also said that a special ministry will be formed for senior citizens to ensure respect, care and special welfare of the elderly. UDF is united in its cause. The corrupt CPM government has to be defeated and the foundation of a better future for the people of Kerala will be laid.
