There was chaos at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport after Nepal-bound passengers, angry at their travel plans being disrupted for two consecutive days due to gross mismanagement, staged a protest against a private airline. The angry passengers said that they had planned for many days for their trip to Nepal, which has now become completely useless.

The plane returned instead of landing in Kathmandu

According to the passengers, the plane that left from Bengaluru for Kathmandu at 10:30 am on Thursday returned instead of landing in Kathmandu and the reason for this was not even explained to the passengers. According to reports, the same plane took off again on Friday morning, but once again failed to land in Kathmandu and was diverted to Lucknow.

Clear information not given

The passengers alleged that after landing in Lucknow, they were kept inside the plane for several hours. A passenger here said during his protest on Friday, ‘We were kept inside the plane for hours without giving proper information. No one explained clearly what was happening.

Was forced to take back to Bengaluru

After a long wait and exhaustion, passengers protested inside the plane, forcing the airline to fly them back to Bengaluru. After reaching here, many passengers sat down to protest near the immigration area at the airport and expressed their displeasure over the wastage of their time for two days.

Kept inside the plane for more than 30 hours

The protesters claimed they were confined inside the plane for a total of more than 30 hours and accused the airline of poor coordination and communication. Another traveler here said, ‘Our entire trip to Nepal was ruined. We had planned this long ago and we have suffered financial losses.

Most of the passengers on board the plane were Kannada speaking.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel intervened and tried to pacify the agitating passengers. However, many people continued their protest demanding accountability and compensation from the airline. Those on board the plane included more than 40 Kannada-speaking passengers, who said their long-planned trip to Nepal was disrupted due to the airline’s failure to handle the situation effectively. There was no immediate response from the airline.
