Bangalore: Lokayukta police on Wednesday raided 13 places belonging to minister Jameer Ahmed Khan’s private secretary Sardar Sarfraz Khan. Property worth 14.38 crores was recovered during the raid.
Sarfaraj, who is the Director of Audit Department of Cooperative Societies, worked for Brihat Bangalore Mahanagara Corporation (GBA) for many years. He is in the ministry on deputation. Few days left for his retirement. In the meantime, a complaint was registered against Sarfaraz Khan at Bagalkot Lokayukta Police Station. Based on that complaint, a case was registered at Bangalore Lokayukta Police Station.
Similarly, the Lokayukta police raided a total of 13 places belonging to Sarfaraj Khan, including Bengaluru and Kodagu, on Wednesday morning and searched the official’s house in Halasuri, the houses and offices of his relatives, and farm houses in Kodagu belonging to him.

A total of Rs 2.99 crore worth of gold ornaments, Rs 66,500 cash and Rs 1.64 crore worth of vehicles were recovered during the raid. Also, documents related to 37 acres of land and 4 houses worth Rs.8.44 crores have been found and these are known to be in the name of Sarfraz and his family. Investigation is on whether the accused officer owns property in benami name.
