Lover kidnaps bride in front of groom, abducts her at gunpoint

Subarnapur: A sensational incident that took place in broad daylight in Subarnapur district of Odisha has shaken the area. A newlywed, returning home soon after her wedding, was abducted at gunpoint by her alleged ex-boyfriend. This incident happened near Tarbha area, when the bride and groom were going to their home after completing the wedding rituals. According to the information, a girl named Rashmi had married Rinku Patel, a resident of Banpali village of Balangir district, according to Vedic customs. The wedding ceremony took place in Kantamal area of ​​Buddh district.

Kidnapped after stopping the car

After marriage, both of them were returning by car to Rinku’s house in Balangir. On the way, when his car reached near Tarbha, some youth suddenly stopped his car. According to sources, these youth were led by Rashmi’s ex-boyfriend. It is alleged that he, along with his associates, first surrounded the car and then threatened the groom with a gun. After this, they forcibly took Rashmi out of the car and took her with them. The entire incident took place in broad daylight, creating an atmosphere of fear and anger in the area.

The groom complained to the police station

Immediately after the incident, the groom Rinku Patel reached the nearest police station and lodged a complaint. Police have registered the complaint and started investigation. A special team has been formed to identify the accused, raid their possible hideouts and safely recover the woman. The matter has been taken seriously by the police officials and all aspects are being investigated, including the alleged love affair angle. A search operation is being conducted in the surrounding areas and CCTV footage is also being scrutinized. At present no trace of Rashmi has been found and security has been increased in the area.

Police engaged in investigation

Regarding the entire incident, Tarbha police station in-charge Anita Kido said, “On February 21, Haribandhu Patel of Balangir got married in Kantamal. Today at around 5 am while returning, three people in a white color Brezza car came near Badbandh of Tarbha and according to the complainant, they kidnapped the bride by showing them a gun. In this regard, she has lodged a complaint in our police station. A case has been registered in the Tarbha police station. We are investigating the matter.
