The largest AI conference in the Global South
Let us tell you that AI Impact Summit 2026 started on 16 February at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and will continue till 20 February. This is the first major AI conference to be held in the Global South. Heads of state of more than 20 countries, 60 ministers and more than 500 AI leaders are participating in it. The Summit has 3 main bases, People (People), Planet (Earth) and Progress (Progress). PM Modi will attend the inaugural ceremony of the summit on February 19. Along with him, the President of France, the Secretary General of the United Nations and the world’s biggest industrialists will also address the inauguration ceremony.
‘We and India have the same objective regarding AI’
Let us tell you that Macron inaugurated the Indo-French Center for Artificial Intelligence in Health (IF-CAIH) at AIIMS Delhi. This center is based on the MoU between AIIMS, Sorbonne University and Paris Brain Institute. This also includes IIT Delhi and other institutes. This center will promote research, education and clinical innovation in healthcare through AI. Macron said on this occasion, ‘I think this innovation will become a very important part for our countries. I believe that in India and France, and in Europe, we have the same objective, we do not want to be completely dependent on American and Chinese models.
