Bangalore: The BDA has come forward to relieve the decades-old traffic congestion at Mekhri Circle on Bellary Road, Bangalore. Tenders have been officially invited for the construction of 2.4 km elevated corridor at a cost of Rs 403 crore.

This new flyover will be a 2.4 km long two-lane elevated corridor from the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) hostel near Baptist Hospital to Mekhri Circle. This two-way flyover will have a rotary ramp system near Mekhri Circle for smooth movement of vehicles.

Thousands of vehicles ply daily on this highway connecting to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA). After crossing the Hebbal flyover, vehicles were stuck in a bottleneck near Mekhri Circle. Avoid this new flyover. So that vehicles coming from the airport side can enter the city directly without any hindrance.

BDA will construct this project at an estimated cost of Rs 403.25 crore. Undertaking on ‘EPC’ model. New loops have already been added to the Hebbal flyover and the completion of this new 2.4 km flyover will completely improve the traffic system of North Bengaluru.
