Chennai: Ending the suspense that has been going on for the past several days regarding the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) President and superstar Vijay today made it clear that his party will not be a part of any alliance in the upcoming Assembly elections. That means TVK will now contest the elections alone. Vijay, at an Iftar party organized by the party, dismissed rumors that TVK would be a part of the NDA alliance. In this way Vijay put an end to all the speculations related to the alliance.
“We are just on the people’s team”
Vijay, in his usual style, targeted his opponents and said – “Many people are spreading rumors that he is in that team, he is in this team, but now they have understood that we are only in the public’s team, even after realizing this, they spread a lot of rumors but nothing was worked out. Being upset with this, Vijay is joining this alliance and a false propaganda is being carried out by saying that he is joining that alliance.”
No compromise on secularism and social justice
Vijay said that there is no need to get confused by such rumours. He roared from the stage and said – “Once again, I want to say this openly and clearly that we will not compromise on the principle of social justice along with secularism and secularism, we are firm on the fact that governance will take place under our leadership only.”
There was intense speculation about joining NDA
In fact, for the last three days there was discussion in the political circles that Vijay’s party TVK can become a part of the NDA alliance. But Vijay made it clear today that the ideology and leadership of his party will remain independent. He emphatically said – there will be governance under our leadership only, we are firm on this. His statement simply means that TVK is trying to emerge as a third option in Tamil Nadu. This effort is a challenge for regional parties like DMK and AIADM as well as national parties.
