What is the news?
Tech giant Google has introduced new Artificial Intelligence (AI) features for its Google Home. With the help of these features, users will now be able to control their smart home devices in a more easy and intelligent way. According to the company, the purpose of these updates is to reduce small and big everyday problems and make voice commands more accurate and faster. Now the Gemini AI model in Google Home has been updated in a better way.
Live search feature for cameras
The most notable new feature is ‘Live Search’, which works in real time with home cameras. Now users can directly ask Gemini what is currently visible in the camera. Like, ‘Are there any cars parked in the driveway?’ or ‘Is there someone at the door?’ This feature will be available with Google Home Premium Advanced plan, which is priced at $ 20 per month or $ 200 (about Rs 18,000 per year) annually.
This is how this feature works
The Live Search feature interprets the live feed from the camera and gives instant and direct answers. Earlier AI used to respond only on the basis of old saved information, but now it can understand the situation by reading real-time video. Additionally, Gemini now understands voice commands better than ever before. For example, on saying ‘turn off the kitchen’, only the lights will be switched off, not all the smart devices in the room simultaneously.
Other updates and improvements
Google said that Gemini for Home will now give more accurate responses and will be able to play new songs better without interruption. Problems like sudden shutdown of the speaker have also been reduced. Along with this, features like better passcode management, activity history and real time notifications have been added to Nest X Yale Lock. The company says that all these updates will make the user experience more secure and reliable than before.
