New Year Celebration – Bangalore Police Release Guidelines for Pubs, Clubs, Bars! – Btv Kannada

Bangalore: The countdown to the New Year has begun and the Khaki Force is on full alert in Bangalore. Commissioner of Police Seemanth Kumar Singh has already made rounds and inspected important areas of the city.

Now Bangalore Police has released 30 guidelines for pubs and clubs, bars and restaurants to avoid any untoward incident in the background of New Year celebration.

• Everything should be closed at 1 am.
• Pub & Bar cannot accommodate more people than the designated space.
• Mandatory notice to observe age limit, no entry for minors, ID card verification is mandatory.
• Drink and drive should not be allowed. This should be displayed in pubs & bars.
• More attention should be paid to women’s safety. Recruitment of female bouncers is mandatory. There should be a separate toilet for women. Introduction of helpline for women is mandatory.
• Even if you play music, you can’t keep the sound too loud. Do not make noise above 50 dB limit.
• Unethical activities should not be carried out. Total prohibition of drugs. A separate area should be reserved for smoking.
• Cooperate with the police. When it comes to inspection, CCTV should assist during inspection.
• There should be proper arrangement about coming to bar & pub. There should be bar code and token system for crowd control. In the latter case no ticket/pass is allowed.
• Emergency & fire fighting system should be maintained properly. Control should be known in case of fire accident.
• Verification of the station about the staff is mandatory. Everyone must have an identity card.
• Parking should not be allowed everywhere. Separate parking should be arranged.
• Emergency contact details should be displayed.
• Don’t advertise aggressively. For example we offer unlimited alcohol. Rev party should not campaign like this.
• Ban on fireworks inside pubs.
• Sharp weapons may not be brought into the pub bar.
• Unlicensed bouncers cannot use agencies.
• Alternative arrangement is mandatory in case of power failure. Pub premises should be kept clean
• Instruction to install barricade for crowd control and arrange queue.
• Note that there should be separate entry and exit as well as emergency exit.
• Notice not to play DJ related to politics and religion. An opportunity for non-judgmental entertainment.
• If you come across information about drugs, you should immediately inform the police.
• Be careful not to fall on the road drunk.
• Pubs and bars should be informed confidentially and ensure that the period does not expire.
• Bouncers should not misbehave with customers.
• Instructed to manage in coordination with police.
• Notice to maintain the safety and peace of customers in pubs and bars as a whole.
