North India gripped by cold, chances of snowfall in these states; Rain alert at these places

New Delhi: The entire North India is in the grip of cold. Due to cold, people are forced to stay in their homes. Cold has increased significantly in every state from Delhi-NCR to UP and Bihar. Talking about Delhi-NCR, the cold has increased a lot with the new year. Due to strong winds, people are facing a lot of problems. However, due to strong winds, there is a slight improvement in the air quality of Delhi-NCR. The meteorological department has predicted further decline in the temperature of Delhi-NCR.

Severe cold in UP-Bihar

Apart from this, cold weather will continue in UP also. Here, an alert has been issued regarding fog in most of the districts of UP. On Monday, the Meteorological Department has issued a cold day alert in Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Santrabidasnagar, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabirnagar, Ambedkarnagar and Sultanpur. There will be a drop in temperature in the coming days also, due to which people will not get respite from the cold. Similarly, in Bihar too, it has become difficult for people to go out of their homes due to cold. An alert has been issued regarding cold in many districts of Bihar.

Chances of snowfall in hilly states

At the same time, the condition of Punjab, Haryana and Uttarakhand is also suffering due to cold. Due to fog, people are facing low visibility even during the day. There is a possibility of snowfall in Uttarakhand on January 6. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain or snowfall in the areas of Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh today and tomorrow. Apart from this, there are chances of snowfall in Himachal Pradesh also. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of frost at many places, which may cause significant damage to crops in the hilly areas.

Rain in many states of South India

The rainy season has started in Kerala. It is raining intermittently in many areas here. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in Kerala for the next two days. Apart from this, good rain is also being seen in Karnataka. There is a possibility of rain in the state for the next two days. It is raining intermittently in areas of the state. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Puducherry and Andaman-Nicobar for the next 2 days.
