New Delhi: The Congress Party has received the final notice to vacate its two old offices located in the country’s capital. The Estate Department of the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry has ordered the party to vacate both its offices located at 24, Akbar Road and 5, Raisina Road by March 28. Let us tell you that the bungalow on Akbar Road was the headquarters of Congress since 1978. The party office ran here for 48 years and many strategies were decided. Last year, Congress built its new headquarters at Indira Bhawan on Kotla Marg, but the old office on Akbar Road is still in use.

At the same time, the offices of Indian Youth Congress and NSUI are running in the Raisina Road office. According to sources, the notice has been issued a few days ago and the party has not been given even a week’s time. Sources reveal that this is the final notice. Congress has not yet given any official response on this matter. Party sources say that a strategy is still being made on this sudden notice and if necessary, Congress can also go to court. Where is the new headquarters of Congress Party?

Indira Bhawan is the new modern headquarters of the Congress Party, located at 9A Kotla Road, Delhi. This building, named after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, was inaugurated by Sonia Gandhi on 15 January 2025. This 5-storey building, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 242 crore, is spread over a total area of ​​2100 square meters. It has a 276-seat auditorium, several meeting rooms, conference halls and modern facilities. The walls of the building have 246 rare photographs from the history of Congress and India, which depict the 140-year journey of the party. A library has been named after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
