Lok Sabha Seats Increase: The central government can bring a bill to increase the number of Lok Sabha seats and women’s reservation in the Lok Sabha. According to sources, the government is proposing to increase the existing 543 seats of the Lok Sabha to 816, in which 273 seats will be reserved for women. Preparations are underway for delimitation on the basis of 2011 census data. Out of the total seats, 33% seats will be reserved for women.

Know that according to the proposed figure of 816 seats, 273 seats can be reserved for women. The government can bring a new amendment bill in the current session to legalize this process. Mallikarjun Kharge has also held an important meeting with opposition MPs regarding this, while today (Tuesday) the complete roadmap for the future is to be decided in the meeting of NDA leaders.

How many seats will increase in which state?

Now in Uttar Pradesh 120 instead of 80, in Bihar 60 instead of 40, in West Bengal 42 increased to 63, in Tamil Nadu 59 instead of 39, in Maharashtra 72 instead of 48, in Karnataka 42 instead of 28, in Kerala 30 instead of 20, in Andhra Pradesh 38 instead of 25, in Gujarat increased from 26 to 39, in Rajasthan instead of 25. There will be 38 Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, 11 instead of 7, 32 instead of 21 in Odisha and 21 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand from 14.

Seats in states will increase on proportional basis

It is noteworthy that earlier the states of South India were opposing the increase in Lok Sabha seats. They feared that this would increase the seats in the states of North India. But now in this proposal the seats of the states can be increased proportionately.
