Odisha: Uproar in Rajya Sabha elections, MLAs clashed in the assembly over cross voting

Voting for Rajya Sabha elections in Odisha has now reached a very interesting turn. There has been news of a huge uproar inside the assembly during voting. There was a heated argument between the leaders of the ruling party and the opposition. According to the information, there was a lot of tussle between the two parties regarding MLA Nav Malik. It is also discussed that Nav Malik has done cross voting, due to which the political atmosphere has become more heated.

Actually, voting is going on in Odisha Assembly today for Rajya Sabha elections. Meanwhile, discussions regarding cross voting have intensified. Odisha Pradesh Congress President Bhakta Charan Das has clearly said that three party MLAs have cross-voted in violation of the party whip. According to him, Congress MLAs Dashrathi Gamang, Sophia Firdos and Ramesh Jena have voted beyond the party line.

Many MLAs did cross voting

Apart from this, names of some other MLAs are also coming up in the discussion of cross voting. It is being told that Subhasini, Sana Mahakud and Arvind Mahapatra may also have done cross voting. However, official confirmation on this is awaited. On the other hand, there is a strong discussion about cross voting for some BJD MLAs. According to sources, names of Saubhik Biswal, Chakradhar Kahar and Devi Ranjan Tripathi are also being included in this list. Because of this the tension between the ruling party and the opposition has increased further.

Leaders accused each other

The atmosphere inside the assembly remained very heated during voting. Leaders from both sides accused each other and talked about violation of rules. After the news of cross voting came to light, various kinds of speculations are being made in the political circles. Overall, this voting of Rajya Sabha elections has created a new stir in the politics of Odisha. Now everyone’s eyes are on what further action will be taken after these allegations of cross voting and in whose favor the final result of the election will be.
