Only God can save Karnataka, PM Modi should do something for the state, appeals Deve Gowda

Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (S) leader HD Deve Gowda made a special appeal to PM Modi in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. Deve Gowda said that the way the Congress government is ruling Karnataka, only God can save the state. Along with this, he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take some steps to revive the industry in the state.

Not a power hungry leader – Deve Gowda

Participating in the discussion on the Appropriation Bill (No. 2) in the Rajya Sabha, Deve Gowda said he was ‘not a power-hungry leader’ and had rejected the demand by some for merger of his party. He urged members of various parties not to attack the Prime Minister over the LPG shortage and said that only Prime Minister Modi can tell the world how the West Asia crisis should be resolved.

PM Modi is a very mature leader

Deve Gowda said, ‘I request those friends who are trying to attack the government because of this gas (issue). The Prime Minister has advised everyone on how the states and the Government of India should behave. He is a very mature leader.

PM Modi should do something for Karnataka

Urging the Prime Minister to take steps to revive the industry in Karnataka, he said, ‘Do something for Karnataka. Don’t worry about this Karnataka government. Deve Gowda said, ‘While being the Chief Minister, my son created industrial clusters in seven districts of Karnataka. When I was Prime Minister, I sanctioned Rs 650 crore to save steel factories. After I step down, only a small unit is left there.

Why is the situation and condition of Karnataka so bad?

He said, ‘I appeal to the Leader of the House, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister and the Prime Minister to do something for Karnataka. Never mind the situation and why the situation in Karnataka is so bad, which I don’t want to mention.

Only God can save Karnataka

Referring to his home state, the former Prime Minister said, ‘In the situation in Karnataka, only God can save Karnataka. Save the country under the leadership of our great leader Modi Saheb. Deve Gowda said, ‘I am grateful to all sections. Which also includes Trinamool Congress leaders, for whom I have a lot of respect.
