Mantra in Kannada, language conflict
On the front of the Math is written in Kannada the verse of Raya’s hymn “Poojaya Raghavendraya Satyadharmarataya Cha Bhajatam Kalpavrikshaya Namtam Kamadhenave” in Kannada. These Kannada language panels have also caused a language conflict.

A new discussion on social media
Telugu speakers have protested against the use of Kannada in the Mantralaya as the Kannada language has been neglected in the Math. The post was shared on social media and caused a lot of discussion.

Why is Telugu language abandoned?
Some people are doing the work of bringing Matha to the issue of language on social media. Sri Raghavendra Swamy’s Math of Mantralaya on the border of Raichur is part of Andhra Pradesh. How can you completely leave Telugu language there..? Take appropriate action in this regard,” the post said, and was tagged to both the Andhra Pradesh CM and DCM.

Devotees visit Raya Math not only from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh but also from many states. This new controversy on social media is leading to unnecessary confusion among devotees. It remains to be seen how the government of both the states will react to this.
