Pakistani drones seen near LOC in Jammu and Kashmir, returned after retaliatory action

Some drones were seen on the Line of Control in Samba, Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening. After seeing the drone, Indian Army soldiers adopted counter measures. After this the Pakistani drones returned. Suspicious drone activity was observed by security forces in several forward areas along the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LOC). Officials said that all the drones had come from Pakistan and returned after hovering over Indian territory for a few minutes.

According to Army officials, security forces have launched a ground search operation in view of suspicious drone activity in the border areas. He said that Army personnel guarding Nowshera sector near the Line of Control in Rajouri opened fire with medium and light machine guns after spotting drone activity over Gania-Kalsian village at around 6.35 pm. Another drone was seen at 6.35 pm in Khabar village of Teriath in Rajouri district.

Military officials saw drones at 6 pm

Officials said that the drone-like flying object came from Dharamsal village of Kalakot and moved towards Bharkh. He told that at around 7:15 pm, a drone-like object was seen hovering for a few minutes over Chak Babral village of Ramgarh sector of Samba. Officials said that a drone-like object was also seen from Tain to Topa in Mankot sector on the Line of Control (LO) in Poonch district at 6.35 pm on Friday evening.

Pakistani drone was shot down on Friday

On Friday night, security forces recovered a consignment of weapons dropped by a drone from Pakistan at Pelora village of Ghagwal near the International Border (IB) in Samba district, military officials said. He said that this consignment included two pistols, three magazines, 16 bullets and a grenade.
