New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and discussed the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Prime Minister Modi himself gave this information in a post on social media X.
PM Modi wrote- “Spoke to His Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, and discussed the ongoing conflict in West Asia. I reiterated India’s condemnation of the attacks on regional energy infrastructure. We agreed that it is essential to ensure freedom of movement of ships and keep shipping lines open and safe. I thanked him for his continued support for the welfare of the Indian community in Saudi Arabia.”
Had a conversation with Donald Trump also
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi had also spoken to US President Donald Trump on phone and discussed the situation in the Gulf. During this discussion, emphasis was also laid on keeping the Strait of Hormuz open. This was his first conversation with Donald Trump after the US and Israeli attack on Iran. Due to the Iran war, the movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz has almost come to a standstill. This has deepened the energy crisis in most countries of the world.
Mention of Iran war in public meeting
Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the ongoing war in West Asia in a public meeting in Noida on Saturday and said that the war has been going on for a month and India is fighting this crisis with full force with the trust of the countrymen. He said, “I want to urge all the political parties of the state and the country to avoid saying such things during such a crisis, which is harmful for the country.” He said, “What is in favor of Indians and India is the policy and strategy of the Government of India. Those who make wrong statements for the sake of politics will get some marks in political debates but the people of the country never forgive the actions that harm the country.”

He said, “Today the whole world is worried, the war has been going on in West Asia for a month. Due to the war, there is a crisis of food items, diesel and fertilizers in many countries.” Modi said, “Every country is making some efforts to face this crisis, but India is facing this crisis with full force relying on the strength of its countrymen.” He said that India imports large quantities of crude oil and gas from affected countries, hence the government is taking every step so that the burden of this crisis does not fall on ordinary families and farmer brothers and sisters.
