What is the news?
Bollywood’s much-awaited film ‘Border 2’ has been in the news ever since its announcement, but recently a new debate broke out on social media regarding the film and Varun Dhawan playing the lead role in it. The trollers who questioned Varun’s acting and his casting in the film have now been slammed by the film’s producer Nidhi Dutta. Nidhi has not only defended Varun but also slammed the trollers.
Trolling and mockery started with the song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’
The controversy started when a short clip of the much-awaited song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ from ‘Border 2’ went viral on social media. Seeing Varun’s facial expressions in the song, people took him to task and within no time a round of memes started. Seeing Varun being trolled so much, the film’s producer Nidhi Dutta issued a strong statement calling it not just a joke but a paid propaganda.
Is money being spent to defame Varun?
Recently a user on X claimed that a ‘paid smear campaign’ is being run against Varun. On this, Nidhi reprimanded those people who are spending money to humiliate Varun. He wrote, ‘Congratulations to all those anti-nationals who can pay money to humiliate an actor who played the role of Param Vir Chakra winner of this country.’
Conspiracy to tarnish the image of the film – producer
Nidhi slammed the trollers and said that this is a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the film. He raised questions on those people who are sitting behind the curtain spreading negativity against his film. Nidhi even said in her statement that the mentality of those who are demeaning a film which is based on the pride of our soldiers is ‘anti-national’.

Insulting the hero of ‘Border 2’ means insulting the country.
Nidhi emphasized that Varun Dhawan is playing the character of a brave man in the film who has received the country’s highest military honour, hence his insult is an insult to the country. He has appealed to the public not to fall prey to such ‘paid campaigns’ and expose such negative elements. Apart from Varun, Sunny Deol, Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh also play important roles in ‘Border 2’.
