Seat sharing work in NDA for Union Territory Puducherry has been completed. AINRC Congress leading the NDA in Puducherry will contest on 16 seats, while Bharatiya Janata Party will field its candidates on 10 seats. AIADMK has been given 2 seats and Lakshya Jananayaga Kakshi (LJK) has been given 2 seats.

The major party in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is All India N.R. Congress (AINRC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Also, AIADMK and Lakshya Jananayaga Kakshi (LJK) are contesting the elections together under NDA. AINRC leader N. Rangasamy is the Chief Minister. The main base of NDA is AINRC Congress. Which is the largest party in the alliance.
There are 30 assembly seats in Puducherry.
There are a total of 30 elected seats in the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory of Puducherry. Of these, 5 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC). Apart from this, 3 members are nominated by the Central Government, making the total strength of the Assembly 33. At least 16-17 seats are required for majority in the Assembly.
Assembly elections are on 9th April
The Election Commission has recently announced the complete schedule of the 2026 assembly elections. Elections will be held here in a single phase on April 9. Strict security arrangements are being made in this regard. Counting of votes will be done on May 4.
