New Delhi: As rumors of shortage of petrol and diesel spread in many cities of the country, huge crowds are being seen at petrol pumps. In many areas, people were standing in queues since 5 in the morning. And at many places, bike-car riders have rushed towards petrol pumps carrying cans and bottles. The rumor spread so fast that some pumps displayed out of stock boards. However, the government and the administration of various cities have clearly said that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel and the supply is completely normal.
‘Despite the supply being normal, people are in panic’
Due to the Middle East war between Iran-America-Israel, there was already a shortage of LPG gas in India. Now the rumor about its effect on petrol and diesel has increased panic among the people. Hundreds of people queued up in Nagpur for the second day and ‘no stock’ boards were put up at some pumps. Pump operators say that rumors have spread that the pumps are going to be closed, hence people are arriving in panic. The situation is similar in Hyderabad also. There was so much crowd that petrol ran out at many pumps. Despite the supply being normal since morning, people are not agreeing.
The administration appealed not to pay attention to rumors
Long queues formed in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday night itself. Rumors of oil shortage created panic. The demand increased so much that a dozen pumps had to be closed and police had to be deployed. Officials said that there is no shortage of oil in the district. The same scene was seen in Indore, Dewas, Mandsaur, Burhanpur and Jhabua. A crowd of bike riders gathered in Burhanpur late at night. The pump operators kept explaining that petrol was sufficient, but people did not agree. The district administration issued a statement on social media saying that petrol and diesel are available in sufficient quantity in Burhanpur and do not pay attention to rumours.
There is chaos regarding LPG gas also
There is also chaos at petrol pumps in Ayodhya, Agra, Udaipur, Vadodara and other cities, and queues remained overnight at some of these places. Meanwhile, there is chaos regarding LPG gas also.
