A surprising case has come to light from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Where in Rani Pokhari area, quilts and mattresses of their dead relatives thrown by people were being picked up and sold to other people. Three persons have been arrested on this charge.
Local people lodged a complaint with the police
Giving more information in this matter, the police said that many complaints were received by the local people. People had said that quilts and mattresses thrown by the relatives of the deceased were being sold at a shop in their area, which was hurting their religious sentiments.

In the initial investigation by the police, the complaint was found to be true. The police registered a case against the shop owner, Salman (24), a resident of Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh, his father Hamid Ali (55), and Sanjay (35), a resident of Rishikesh, who supplied them with quilt and mattress, under the relevant section of the Indian Justice Code and arrested them.

Police said that after cremating their relatives at Purnanand Ghat in Rishikesh, people throw their quilt mattresses under a Peepal tree at a place called Saat Mod on the way. The accused were picking them up from there and selling them to other people.
