New Delhi: The weather patterns in the country are changing rapidly. In most of the states the heat is increasing gradually while in some states rainfall activities are being seen due to western disturbance. At the same time, fog is being seen during the morning in some places including Himachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. Light winds are blowing in many states including Delhi.
Heat is increasing in most of the states of the country
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in many parts of North-West, Central, East and North-East India is being recorded 2-4°C above normal. Above normal temperatures are being recorded at many places in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Western Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Rajasthan, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Assam and Meghalaya. Hot conditions are likely to prevail over Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa during 14-15 February.
Temperature will increase by 2-3°C
The minimum temperature over North-West India will gradually increase by 2-3°C in the next 3 days and there will be no significant change thereafter. Maximum temperatures over many parts of Maharashtra and Karnataka will gradually increase by 2-3°C in the next 4 days and then fall by 2-3°C in the next 3 days. That means now the cold has reduced. With the gradual increase in temperature, the effect of heat has started becoming visible. It is cold only in the morning and evening. The lowest minimum temperature in the plains of India at 6.5°C was observed in Sikar (East Rajasthan).
Chance of rain in these states including Haryana-Punjab
According to the Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance may affect the western Himalayan region from 16 February 2026. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad during 16th and 17th. There is a possibility of rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand also on 17 and 18 February.
At the same time, there may be rain and thundershowers during 14-15 February in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh. There is a possibility of rain and lightning over North Rajasthan on 17th and Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 16th and 17th February.

The sky will be clear in Delhi-NCR today. The maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to be between 26°C to 28°C and the minimum temperature is likely to be between 10°C to 12°C. The minimum temperature in Delhi will be close to normal and the maximum temperature will be much above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C). Now the heat has started being felt in Delhi even at night.
