New Delhi: The weather patterns are changing in the country. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that due to a new western disturbance, the weather across India is changing. While the northern plains are experiencing heat due to rising temperatures, rain and snowfall are expected at some places in the Himalayan regions. On the morning of February 17, there may be rain or snowfall at some places in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir (Gulmarg and Sonamarg) and Ladakh.
Heat will increase in these parts of the country
The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature in North-West India is expected to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the next three days. After the next 24 hours, the minimum temperature is expected to increase gradually in western areas also. In southern and coastal India, a warning of heat wave conditions has been issued at some places in coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa from February 17.

Punjab, Haryana Chandigarh, Delhi, East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya are recording between 7-12°C. At the same time, temperatures between 12-15°C are being recorded in Western Rajasthan, Western Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch, Central Maharashtra, Vidarbha. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature is being recorded between 35-37°C in Gujarat, Kerala, Mahe, Telangana, Coastal Karnataka. At the same time, the maximum temperature is being recorded at 30-35°C in Odisha, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, 20-25°C in North Punjab and Western Uttar Pradesh.
In which states will there be rain and snowfall?
Due to the impact of Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh between 17 and 19 February. There may be rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 17 and 18 February.
There is a possibility of isolated thunderstorm, lightning and strong winds (30-40 kmph) over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Rajasthan on 17th and 18th. There is a possibility of rain and lightning in Madhya Pradesh on February 18. There is a possibility of heavy rain at some places over South Tamil Nadu and Kerala and Mahe on 21 and 22 February.
How will the weather be in Delhi?
There will be light clouds in the sky in Delhi. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are likely to range between 29°C to 31°C and 12°C to 14°C respectively. The minimum temperature in Delhi will be above normal. Light wind is expected.
