Heartbreaking news came from Ghaziabad. Three sisters committed suicide due to mobile phone addiction and online gaming. All three sisters were minors. The eldest sister Nishika was 16 years old, her younger sisters Pakhi was 14 years old and Prachi was only 12 years old. On Tuesday night, the three sisters jumped from the ninth floor of the apartment. Police found a suicide note from the spot on which it was written, Sorry Papa. Many family photos were found scattered on the floor of the house. Some things were found written on the walls of the flat, which had been crossed out.
Chetan Kumar, father of these girls, says that they were playing Korean love game for the last two and a half years. Different tasks were given in this game. One girl became everyone’s senior, the other sisters followed her orders. She would do all the work on his orders. The parents thought that the children were playing a normal game. He did not know that in this game such dangerous tasks would be given which would take his life. But the police and the girls’ father say that the three sisters were greatly influenced by Korean culture, they used to listen to Korean music and were also mobile addicts. A few days ago, their father had snatched away the mobile phone from them, due to which the girls were angry.
Eyewitnesses to the incident said that the three girls did not want to commit suicide together. Initially a girl tried to jump down from the railing. He was once saved by two sisters, who stopped him from jumping. All three went inside the room. After a few minutes all three came out. Again one sister tried to jump down, the other two sisters tried to stop her, and all three fell down.
Why did three girls commit suicide? Was there any pressure on him, depression? Now different kinds of things are being said regarding this. Society people say that the girls used to watch Korean culture as well as K-POP, Korean music, Korean films, Korean short films, Korean shows and Korean series. Virtual life seemed real to him. In school and coaching classes she also used to declare her name as Korean. Investigation has also revealed that the three girls were not real sisters.
The girls’ father married three times and had a total of five children from two wives. Among the girls who committed suicide, there is a daughter of the first wife and two daughters of the second wife. Society people say that the conduct of the entire family was not normal. These people did not mix with anyone. Didn’t even participate in society programs.
It has been scientifically proven that getting addicted to games has a bad effect on the brain. MRI scans found that addiction to video games has the same effects as addiction to drugs or alcohol. In the game that led to the death of these innocent girls, children are lured into a love game, given tasks and when they are not able to complete the tasks, they get scared and move towards suicide. Efforts are also made to adapt children to Korean culture. Its impact is so deep that children start considering themselves Korean.
Game detox centers have been created in China to get rid of this type of gaming addiction. A 22-day course has been started to save children from game addiction. Here too, there is a need to create awareness about this type of gaming among both parents and children which should start from school life. (Rajat Sharma)
