The much awaited film ‘Veera Kambal’ is directed by veteran director Rajendra Singh Babu. Kambala is a traditional sport of Tulu Nadu’s indigenous culture. It has a rich history of more than eight hundred years. Over time, the carpet has undergone several transformations by facing legal complications. Following its exact history, Rajendra Singh Babu has made this film in Kannada and Tulu languages. The film team has decided to release Veera Kambala’s film, which has been in the news since the beginning, in this month of February.
The director has worked hard for two years to prepare this story and screenplay with the carpet as the center. Noted Tulu theater director Vijay Kodiyal Bail has contributed screenplay and dialogue for this film. Aditya of Deadly Soma fame brings life to the challenging role as the hero. Rajendra Singh Babu claims to have woven the Veer Kambal without any complications, keeping in mind every minute detail, under the guidance of the experts of Tulunad.
A vast carpet paddy was prepared near Moodbidya in Dakshina Kannada, where prime scenes were captured. Every day twenty-two angles and more than five hundred people were participating in the shooting. Notably, Srinivas Gowda, who holds the record for driving corners in Kambal, has played the same role here as well. Swaraj Shetty has accompanied him. Filming has also been done in Dubai. The film team, which is now in the final stages of post-production work, will soon announce the exact release date.
This film is produced under the banner of Baba’s Blessing Films. Produced by Vinita Vijay Kumar Reddy and Arun Rai Todar. While Prakash Rai and Ravi Shankar have played the lead roles, Radhika Chetan has brought life to a special role. Naveen Padil, Gopinath Bhatt, Bhojaraj Vamanjuru and other famous actors from Tulu theater background have acted in this film which will be released in Tulu language as well. Vijay Kodialbile screenplay dialogue, Manikanth Kadri music direction, R. Giri cinematography, Srinivas S Babu editing, Chandrasekhar Suvarna Mulki art direction, Kanta Prasadhan and Bhasha’s costume design is Veera Kambal.
