Indian Test team opener KL Rahul scored his second consecutive century in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 knock-out. He played an inning of 141 runs on the first day of the semi-final match against Uttarakhand cricket team at Ekana Cricket Stadium. This proved to be the 25th century of his first-class career. Apart from him, captain Devdutt Padikkal also played a century.

Rahul’s century was brilliant

Rahul started cautiously against the new ball. He took over Karnataka’s innings after the early dismissal of Mayank Agarwal (5). He converted his innings into a century during the second session. Along with Padikkal, he made a big partnership of 278 runs for the second wicket. Rahul was out after scoring 141 runs in 211 balls. In his innings he also hit 11 fours and 5 sixes.

Rahul scored his 25th century in first-class cricket. Rahul has played 119 first-class matches so far, in which he has scored more than 8,800 runs in 207 innings. Meanwhile, he has also scored 41 half-centuries with the highest score of 337 runs. In the current Ranji Trophy season, he has scored 371 runs at an average of 74.20. Meanwhile, he has scored 2 centuries and one half-century.

Padikkal scored his ninth century in first-class cricket

Padikkal scored the ninth century of his first-class career. When Karnataka lost its first wicket at the score of 18 runs, Padikkal came to the crease. This left-handed batsman has played 53 matches in his first-class career, in which he has scored more than 3,500 runs in 89 innings. In the current Ranji season, he has scored 2 centuries in his name.
