Ghaziabad: UP Police has arrested two persons, including a woman, and detained a teenager for providing confidential information of this country to neighboring country Pakistan through parcel through Dubai and through WhatsApp numbers. These arrests were made on Sunday. Police said that earlier 12 people including women were arrested and minors were detained.
Used to send information to Sardar in Pakistan
Those arrested today have been identified as Meera Thakur (28) of Mathura and Naushad Ali (20) of Faridabad, Haryana. According to police, Naushad is originally from Bihar while the third suspect is a minor. Additional Police Commissioner Rajkaran Nayyar said on Monday that this gang involved in espionage was sending confidential information to a person named Sardar alias Zorawar Singh, who runs a spying racket from Pakistan.
Police said that the accused arrested earlier include Suhail Malik alias Romeo, Sane Ibrahim alias Mehak, Praveen, Raj Valmiki, Shiva Valmiki, Hrithik Gangwar, Ganesh, Vivek, Gagan Kumar Prajapati, Durgesh Nishad, Naushad Ali and Meera. This espionage racket was busted on March 13 and Meera and Suhail were working together for the last several years.
Meera declared herself an informer of Mumbai Police
During interrogation, Meera told that she met Suhail through Facebook after which she joined the gang. According to Additional Police Commissioner Nayyar, Meera was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police in 2025 on charges of arms smuggling. According to the police, Meera also said that she was an informer of Mumbai Police.
Naushad had done recce of railway stations
Naushad told the police that he connected with the other accused through various social media platforms and was in direct contact with Sardar in Pakistan. He confessed that he had conducted recce of security, police establishments and railway stations in Delhi and other states and was passing on the photos and videos.
Suhail was giving Rs 5000 for every information
According to the police, this gang in India was being run by Suhail alias Romeo, a resident of Bijnor and he had recruited other gang members. Police say that Suhail was paying Rs 5,000 for every information and he was receiving money from Pakistan through Punjab in money transfer centers and shopkeepers’ accounts so that no one could suspect him. The detained minor boy told that he had installed CCTV cameras at Delhi Cantt railway station. This gang was instructed to recruit less educated Hindu minor boys.
