Sahitya Akademi today announced its annual Sahitya Akademi Awards in 24 Indian languages. In this, it has been announced to give the Sahitya Akademi Award for the year 2025 to senior Hindi storyteller Mamta Kalia. Mamta Kalia has received this award for her memoir ‘Jeete Ji Allahabad’. In this regard, Mamta Kalia has shared a post on the social media platform Facebook. Mamta Kalia has written in the post, “Friends, thank you, thank you. It is very rare that there is a traffic jam on our phone. Sorry. Your love will now be fulfilled only by giving love. Your prayers inspire me to write the next book.”

A notification in this regard has been issued on the official website of Sahitya Akademi. The notification further reads, “Every year, the Sahitya Akademi gives awards in its recognized 24 languages through a prescribed process. For the Sahitya Akademi Awards 2025, the process began in January 2025 with the release of an open advertisement on 30 January 2025.”
The notification further read, “The award—which consists of an engraved copper plaque, a shawl and a chest containing an amount of Rs 1,00,000/- as prize money—will be presented to the award winners at a presentation ceremony to be held in New Delhi on March 31, 2026.”
