The story which takes place in the period of 1971 is shown in the movie ‘Sarala Subbarao’. It is indeed a challenging task. Depicting a period of more than 50 years ago in 2026 is not an easy task. The movie ‘Sarla Subbarao’ has done that job successfully. Watching this movie, the audience feels like going back 5 decades.

What was love like in those days? What was the restlessness of lovers in those days without mobile phones? The movie ‘Sarla Subbarao’ has built the relationship between husband and wife like a beautiful poem. Here the name of the heroine is simple. The movie has been made as simple as that. All the characters are shown realistically without any pretensions.

Ajay Rao played the role of English Professor Subbarao. Misha Narang is seen as a housewife. Their combination is very good. The mourning of the newly married couple is beautifully shown. This movie successfully portrays the emotions of a woman who is pregnant for the first time. Misha Narang has acted well in all those scenes.

Senior artists like Rangayana Raghu, Chitkala Biradar have also acted in this movie. The role played by Rangayana Raghu has weight in this movie. The movie ‘Sarla Subbarao’ will please the audience who want to see him in emotional and serious roles. Vijay Chandur, Raghu Ramanakoppa make the audience laugh.

Gen Z audiences are introduced to a different world through this film. Today’s style of movie making has changed. The new generation’s definition of love has also changed. But the movie ‘Sarla Subbarao’ did not compromise on those ideas and presented the story to the audience in the style of the old era. So this movie gives a completely different feel.

People who fast forward even 30 second reels may not like the movie ‘Sarla Subbarao’. An exciting twist may not appear in the overall story. That type of audience may find it less entertaining as there are no mass spice elements. But the audience who want to feel the old love will like this movie.

Art director Amar’s work stands out. He has worked hard to show the 1970s. The entire technical team including Pradeep Padma Kumar’s cinematography has done a neat job. Released on February 20, this film will be loved by family audiences.
